no you don't need to do that if you replace the tstat and pump isn't leaking why replace it.

Ok Thanx... Well I'm thinking they thought I was a young dumb girl considering I had just cashed my pay check and had no pockets so they seen I had an envelope full of money!!!! And yes they got me cause I didn't know any better... But the day after they replaced my thermostat and water pump my reservoir tank was bone dry and my friend opened my metal coolant lid and stuck his finger in and the very tip of his finger got wet with light green antifreeze.... What I need to know is if they demanded I replace thermostat and water pump, wouldn't they have noticed the rear seal leak since they were the ones telling me I would blow my engine up if I didn't, also aint they supposed to top off all fluids after replacing those things??????

actually they should have topped the water off but not the rear main seal as that is in the oil system. I wouldn't go back to these clowns again. the coolant may have been low due to tstat opening then system going down which is pretty normal. However these engines do leak head gaskets with mileage so keep an eye on the coolant. If it was overheating and now continues to then that is your more than likely your problem. Which is an expensive fix.
