My vehicle needs a radiator. I went to an auto parts and air conditioning warehouse, actually called, I didn't go there personally. The guy told me that there are 3 different types of radiators for my year, make and model of my vehicle. I suggested to give him my VIN no. but he said it wouldn't make a difference. He said that if I would just pick one of them for price or what have ya, it would not fit at all if it wasn't the correct one. He said that they would need to open the car up and verify the right type. I think he's trying to sell me the labor also because he asked me about the labor. So if the car is open, then I would might as well do the installation also.

Good morning,

Can you give the date the car was produced from the driver's side door?

There are 3 different ones depending on the production date.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-replace-a-car-radiator

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/coolant-flush-and-refill-all-cars

As far as price, it pays 2.5 hours in labor. That would be around $275.00 to $300.00.

The radiator is about $80.00 to $125.00 depending n the radiator.

The one I gave you is for your car based on the production date.

Of course, the higher the price, the higher the quality.

They are OEM models.

They will last a long time assuming you change the coolant at the correct intervals. You should change it once a year.

When you do not, corrosion starts and will rot out the radiator.

Yes, if you looked at the procedure I posted in the beginning, the first step is to drain the radiator of all fluid.

Add all new coolant when the job is completed.

Okay, I attached the capacity and the recommended coolant below.

As far as brand, I would use Prestone.

Roy

Fluid Types

Coolant type:

In order to avoid technical problems, only use "Toyota Super Long Life Coolant" or similar high quality ethylene glycol based non-silicate, non-amine, non-nitrite, and non-borate coolant with long-life hybrid organic acid technology.

Do not use plain water alone.

Capacities

Total Cooling System Capacity: .................... 11.7 L (12.4 US qt., 10.3 Imp. qt.)

I haven't checked that. With Amazon, many times you can't get any info on products.

Then you have about an 80% chance of the wrong radiator.
