what is the difference between a factory and aftermarket?

If you buy factory it will be a brand new AC/Delco (GM) unit and most expensive.If you buy aftermarket it will be either new OR re-manufactured as a less expensive brand. They will all come with some sort of warranty.Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
