When I first put in the ABS sensors, I didn't realize that they needed to be a certain distance between the sensors and the toner rings. When I took one out the end of it was chewed up on the bottom of the sensor because it was too close to the toner ring.
I didn't think about the debris or cleaning them out, but now I am seeing the ABS and Brake lights going on and off and there aren't any ABS codes. Could the debris from the end of the chewed up end of the sensor be causing the lights? I imagine that there are some magnificent debris.

Hi,

There aren't any shimming procedures for the wheel speed sensors. Once everything has been properly cleaned, it should be at the needed depth when installed and not require any other adjustment.

I attached the installation directions below. Take a look and let me know if that helps. Also, if you found the end of the new sensor is damaged, then it sounds like the toner ring is the likely issue. Let me know.

Take care,

Joe
