Where would the camshaft position sensor be located on a 2010 HHR?

It is an 4 cylinder overhead cam engine, it should be on the side of the cylinder head near near the top. I will attach a photo for you to see. Are you sure you need a cam sensor and not a camshaft actuator?

Actuator would be the one in the back right? Would you think it would be best just to change both?

The actuators sit on top of the valve cover I believe on the end. Which part(s) do you need to change? The cam sensor or cam actuator?

Would incorrect oil quality or viscosity cause my engine light to come on? Been getting my oil change at Wal-Mart and it is just the basic oil change.

Change the exhaust camshaft actuator solenoid. They fail usually because the screens on them get clogged with varnish.

Hi,

This is a very old post so it would be best to start a new post with your specific information because we have to assume your vehicle is the same as the other person's. That may be true in this case but that is not always the case and it just causes confusion and makes it harder to assist you.

Assuming your vehicle is the same, here are some location diagrams. If you have more questions or can't find it, please start a new post and we will help with whatever you need. Thanks
