Push start key fob not working properly?

My controller doesn't work but I use it to start my vehicle by pushing the brake pedal as I out the device up to the start button. will this harm my car if I've used it to start my car for a couple months now? I'm asking because it only starts when it wants to.

By start do you mean crank over? I am not sure what you mean by I use the brake pedal to start the car? Can you please upload a short video of the issue so I can see what's going on? Here is the wiring diagram for the starter system so you can see how it works. Also let me know if the wiring has been altered. Check out the images below.
