Hi, just replaced my center support bearing on my 520d e60, and couldn't find hardly any information on torque specs for the etorx bolts that hold the CV joint to the differential; one person said 20nm seemed a bit light to me but I'm not a mechanic. Please help.

If I am getting the correct bolt that you are looking at then it is 21 Nm but I am going to attach the complete process and torque specs so you can verify this.

Here is a guide that will help with replacing drive shafts, but it will not have the torque spec that you are looking for. That will be attached below.

Please see the info attached below and let us know if you need something else.

Thanks

Hi, thanks for your reply, I was told 20nm then 90deg, then you said 21nm, but spec's say 70nm. still confused.

I am sorry. I said 21 Nm but was looking at the wrong one. If you went 20 Nm and then 90 degrees, you are going to be close to 70Nm but I would use the spec and not try to get close. 70 Nm is about 52 ft lbs if you are in the USA. This is what I would use if it were me.

Sorry for the confusion.
