Hi all, I have a vauxhall insignia 2ltr diesel ecoflex. my problem is this, when I do any journey 30 minutes and above then turn the engine off it won't start again for at least 30 minutes . Once it's cooled down it starts and drives absolutely fine, code reader say no faults battery test reads 87% life, 100% charge which ruled out alternator. I'm now at the point where I do not dare switch it off , and worry when filling up incase it won't start . Does anyone have any advice or had the same issue?

Thanks for reading all advice is greatly appreciated.

Hello,

It sounds like you probably have a faulty coolant temperature sensor.
It is preventing the engine from starting when the engine is hot. It is probably sending a signal to the ECU that the engine it "too hot" to safely start.
Unfortunately I do not have access to the diagrams for that vehicle.
the temperature sensor should be located on the right hand side of the engine, if you are facing the engine.
It's on top of the thermostat housing.
