I assume you are referring to the pressure switch? I am not sure of another power steering switch so please let me know if this is not what you were talking about.

I included a lot of information about the pressure switch which is actually called a flow control valve on your vehicle. Let me know if you need more or different information. Thanks

I've been trying to find this part in auto parts stores like AutoZone with no luck. Can you show me a picture of this part?

The whining sound could it be a sign of low steering fluid? Also, how often should the steering wheel fluid be bled out and replaced?

The issue you are having trying to find this is most likely because it is sold as part of the pump. They show how to remove it for cleaning purposes.

Yes. Low fluid will cause a whine to the pump. It should only be changed when the fluid smells burnt. This is not a common requirement but if the pump or other component in the steering system is changed, it is a good idea to flush the fluid.

Do I need to run the engine for awhile to smell the burnt smell or will I smell it while the car is off. And where will I smell it, inside the cabin or when opening the hood.

Sorry for the confusion. The fluid itself will smell burnt. Just get a quart of new fluid and smell that. Then smell your fluid in the reservoir and it should be similar. If it smells bad compared to the new fluid then you need to change it.

Here is the procedure for draining and bleeding the system.
