The power steering pump was making noise. Just changed it out. It only made noise when idling. Since I changed it out it still makes noise just not as loud. No issues with steering. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you get a recording of the noise because I suspect this is air in the lines?

However, can you let us know when the noise is the worst? Do you hear it all the time or only when you are turning?

Also, I would suggest removing the belt and start the engine and see if the noise is gone. This will not tell us much other than the noise is pressure related.

If this is air in the lines, then it is normally caused by a pump failure, but this could also be a steering rack issue.

So, let's start with getting a recording of the noise so that we can figure out what direction to go.

Thanks

The sound is there when at stoplights and when in park idling. It gets louder when turning steering wheel to max. Let me know if the video had sound.

Got it. That does not sound extremely loud, but it does have a bit of a whine to it.

However, the pumps on these vans are very noisy and I never liked them.

So, this means if the power steering is operating, and the pump is whining the loudest when you are turning and at full turn then I would say that this is normal for this pump.

The only solution that I would suggest is we can try and flush the steering fluid just to make sure there is no air in the lines.

If there is not and this is still making noise then you can try and replace the pump again but if it were me, I would not worry about it if the power steering is operating.
