Vehicle not recognizing that there are running boards on my truck?

My vehicle listed above doesn’t even recognize the running boards are on my truck… bought the truck 3 months ago, running boards have never worked would love to get them working… do I start with buying new motors? A new modulator? I’ve checked all fuses, and all are good… thank you for all and any help.

Let's check for power at the fuse #f7 40 amp in the engine compartment fuse box. This guide can help, if there is power you could have a power fold running board module that is not working. Below are the wiring diagrams for the system so you can see how it works and the location of the module and how to replace it as well.
