The only thing working on my key fob is the unlock button. And inside the car on both door panels I can’t lock or unlock the car. Also when I put the car in drive my doors won’t lock. So basically I can’t lock my car.

Hi,

I looked up the wiring schematic for the power door locks. It is six pages long. LOL There are multiple fuses throughout the system. What I want you to do first, is check fuse 41 in the fuse/relay box under the left side of the dash. That fuse powers all of the relays for the locks. See the attached pics. Pic 2 shows the location. I highlighted the fuse to check. If you are not in the US, I need to know because the locations are different. Also, I am basing this on a 4 door sedan and not a coupe.

Now, in addition to just checking the fuse, I need you to confirm there is power to the fuse. Here is a link that shows you how that is done:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-fuse

Do this and let me know what you find.

Okay, and if something is wrong does that mean I need to get a new fuse or what I’m taking it to the dealership in the morning. How much does it normally run for this type of fix?

Hi,

The fuse is something you can do yourself. I suggested starting with that fuse because it powers all of the relays. Since none of them are working, the fuse is the first thing to check simply because all of the relays wouldn't have gone bad at the same time.

A relay isn't expensive at all, but I don't think that is the issue. I have a feeling it's something simple.

If you have a chance, let me know what they tell you.

Take care,
Joe

I can lock/ unlock all doors except the driver door with the key button pad. However I can flip the inside lock button on the inside to lock all doors. But I can not use the inside lock all button on the armrest.
Any suggestions?

Hi on my brothers girlsfriends car all the doors lock except for the front door. You have to manually lock it. What could be the problem and do you have any wiring diagrams. It is a 2012 Honda Civic 4 door. The front door does not lock. Thanks for any help.

The door locks cycle after every stop. The car initally is suppose to lock the first time I push the gas, but now every time I make a complete stop, and then push the gas, the car lock cycles again. So it keeps making an annoying sound.

There must be a wire shorting somewhere near the brake pedal(s).
Check the wiring around your pedals, shake things a bit.
Also try resetting your ECU by disconnecting battery for 10-15 minutes.

Do you have factory alarm or Aftermarket?

Both of the rear door locks are not working. They will unlock lock/unlock when I manually push the individual doors button by hand. They do not work when using the front driverside master locking button and they do not work when using the keyless entry. I have chcked the fuses and they are good. I have little to no experience working on cars and would like to know possible reasons for the door lock failures as well as the difficulty of each possible solution. Thanks!

Hi citizenk,

It sounds like the drivers multiplex unit is going out but there are three fuses that need to be checked before. Here is a guide to help test the fuses with the fuse locations and the door lock wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works and which fuses to check.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-fuse

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Thats odd for such low mileage on a Honda. Are these both the original keys? Honda used "sidewinder" keys up to 05, they require a special machine to cut them and from what Im reading you must use Hionda blanks. If they are original, you may just have llock cylinder failures, or possible vandalism. If that is the case, you may need to replace them both

Electrical problem
2005 Honda Civic 4 cyl Automatic 60000 miles

My Driver side door lock is semi-inoperable.

* Using my remote key, does not unlock or lock the driver door. Also, if my driver door is unlocked, the other door locks will lock/unlock. However, when my driver lock is locked, the other door locks do nothing when pressing the lock/unlock buttons on the remote key.

* The driver lock cannot be locked manually by pressing the lock down. The lever just will not go down.

* The driver lock does lock when inserting the key into the key hole. All other locks also lock when locking the driver door like this.

Hi jigga8517,

The driver door lock can only be manually pushed down when the door is closed or the inner/outer handle is pulled.

From the symptom description, the driver door lock actuator is bad.

2004 Honda Civic 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 2004 Honda Civic. The other day I noticed that the interior door handle on the passenger rear door stopped working. The door will not open from inside. Also, when I lock all doors with my remote control 3 of the 4 doors lock except the rear driver door. However, the door locks if I do it manually. Lately I noticed that this faulty door lock also does not unlock when I use my remote control. It does however unlock manually from inside. I'm not sure if the door handle on the pasenger rear door stopped working same time as the rear driver side door lock mechanism ,or if this is a mere coincidence. Any advice or help would be great.

Hi Peter8695,

Both should be unrelated.

The front passenger door inner handle lnkages is most likey to be disconnected or broken somewhere. You need to remove the door panel to check.

The rear driver side not not locking or unlocking is either due to a bad door lock actuator or wiring fault. Again the door panel have to be removed to test/check.
