Will not start after overheating?

hello, i was wondering what it would mean if my brother replaced my starter and battery, but the car still won't start. It stopped on me due to overheating i guess and it was smoking. he said oil leaked into my engine but I'm still not sure what to do.

The best check to do is to conduct a compression test.
This could then point to a possible mechanical issue with the engine

Expect to see 150-160Psi on each cylinder for good compression readings.
