oil pressure warning light

I have a 1989 Porsche 944 with 54,000 mles, but it has one problem. The oil pressure warning light stays on. It also has a mechanical guage and it reads good pressure. I have had a couple of mechanics look at it but haven't found a fix yet.

The light comes on when you have less than 7.5 lbs of oil pressure. It is an idiot light dsigned to give you a warning in case you aren't watching the gauge. I think it has a seperate sending unit that is probably bad. It make have a loose wire or oil on the connection.
