Engine Cooling problem
1984 Other Porsche Models 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

I have a Porsche 944 it was over heating the mechanic said it was the water pump and we needed to do other thing to it to but just for the water pump replacement and it is a reconstructed part he wants to change 1,800 $$ dollars that to me seams high what do you think?

It is one of two water cooled models, and the timming and balance shaft belts need to be reomved, very involved, mostly labor! You might get it done cheaper, but it will be hard to find a competent Porsche mechanic to do it for less...
