1975 Other Porsche Models 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

i have a 1975 porsche 914 the problem is when i gearshift the gears slip. i took the car to the mechanic thinking i had a bad trans, but the mechanic said the trans was in a perfect conditions took the car back home and only. reverse/2nd and 4th gear works. is there any other thing or suggestion on what else to look at or check

try checking the shift coupler/linkage it runs thru the shift tunnel in between the seats you have to remove the center console and may need a flashlight and a mechanics mirror ....its important to get all of it tight and the clutch must be adjusted correctly in order for it to perform to its best ability oh and check to see if eng to tranny bolts are all tight before doing the clutch ......good luck "
