2003 Porsche 911 Grinding in steering column

While driving vehicle yesterday the steering column all of the sudden started making a grinding sound while moving and in park.
The next day the sound had gone away. Do you have any idea wha could be causing this sound.
It only happened when I would turn the wheel.

Located on the steering column there is a brg between the shaft and column housing th is either collecting dirt or is damaged to inspec you must remove the steering wheel .
