pop and bang, runs rough sometimes and shuts off?

Occasionally at no particular time it will pop and bang for a couple of minutes, but I will put the truck in number 2 to get more RPMs and then it will come out of it and be fine until the next unexpected time when it will do it again. On idling the truck will run rough sometimes and will run rough and actually shut down.

This sounds like the fuel pump is going out or you have a clogged fuel filter, are there any codes? You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) from Amazon for about $36.00.

I would change out the fuel filter/fuel pump first here is the location so you can swap it out with a guide to help you with the steps. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
