1998 Pontiac Transport Coolant leak??

First of all thank you for the donation.I can't tell you what's leaking without seeing it.If you have a steady drip then i would get under the car and find out where the drip is coming from.My guess is it's probably just a bad hose.Let me know what you find.You could also rent a coolant pressure tester i know auto zone rent's them might help to find the leak if it was spraying out instead of dripping.

Hi badboy101178. Welcome to the forum. If you're referring to the passenger side, the heater core is buried way back there. Good luck reaching it. The tubes are plastic so don't put too much pressure on them. One of those hoses could be leaking, especially if it is a fairly fast leak.

Slower leaks or leaks that only occur when the engine is warm may require a pressure tester to make it show up. A head gasket can leak coolant into the oil or out the side of the engine but that isn't real likely for a two year old gasket.

Also look for a metal tube running along the rear edge of the rear valve cover It could have a hole corroded through it, especially near the metal mounting tab that is welded onto it.

i have been underneth the van this morning and cant see a dang thing! it is a pretty good leak when the van is running you can see it pretty good just cant see where

You can try using a flash light and a extend able mirror those are real helpful to see in place's you normally couldn't.Also using a coolant pressure tester might help too that way you won't have to have it running.The engine could be cold and you wont have to worry about getting caught up in the belt.Your going to have to actually see it leak some how then find a way to get to it to fix it.Even if i was there with you i would have to see where the coolant was leaking out otherwise i couldn't tell you where it's leaking for sure.

greatly appreciate the advice!! i took it to where i work and we have a underground pit! looked very very very hard and saw no visiqble leaks this time! just the frame was green!! on the way home i have to go through a 3 mile part of the city where its 35mph and the temp started to climb i noticed the fas wernt kicking on turned the ac on and both fans kicked on and cooled down to 190 i might just have a fan problem and its spitting it out when it get to hot!????

If your cooling fan didn't come on when it got hot but came on with the a/c i would suspect you had a bad coolant temp sensor.Unless your coolant level was low enough that the temp sensor wasn't in coolant to read the correct temp.I emailed you a diagram of where your coolant temp sensor is also inspect the connector if it's corroded then replace the connector too.With your coolant leak i would rent that pressure tester and put it over that pit and pump it up and see where it's leaking from.
