headlights stay in dayrunner mode

the headlights on my sunfire stay in dayrunner mode at night for 15 to 20 minutes before the regular lights click on or i have to run on high beams for that time till they click on.

I had to replace my multifunction switch to correct the problem on my 1997 2.2 with 182500+ miles. It only took 1 hour to replace and cost less than $40 at Pepboys. Good Luck.
