when we buy the car 3 yrs ago the milleage is 73,000 so now the milleage is 85000. when we send it to the smog testing the automotive repair said that the transmission is slipping and need to be replace to pass the test. Do you think its possible? eventhough its just below 100000 miles? pls advise. the car was bought in north carolina. the automotive repair shop charge us 2grand for fixing the car thinking of the price of the car now its only 2grand or lower than that. We dont drive it from north carolina to California we hire a truck to bring it here in California. these car was taken care very good. hopefully i can receive a good answer.

If the PCM sees the trans slipping, it will set the "check engine light", thus killing your chance to pass smog. Would be nice to know the exact code that is in the PCM, might be a solenoid problem rather than the entire trans needing to be rebuilt. Have it scanned (autozone does it free) and get back to me with the code/codes

The Check Engine lights on back in North Carolina twice, midas did fixed the solenoid. I feel it back there that when i reach 85miles/hr the speed dosen't increase and no more power to give. I ignore that i thought its something else. The shop who fixed it is Sheral's automotive located in Kiefer Blvd. Sacramento. I dont know how good they fixed it but they give me 6 months for parts and labor for the transmission rebuilt as warranty. Any advise for the car? is it okay to keep it for two years or sell it before it expire the 6 months warranty. if younhave any idea who are the people who fixed my car pls have me inform thank you and i appreciate your answer.

Keeping or selling the car is entirely up to you and your situation. If you like it, keep it if not sell it.
