quarts of engine oil?

drained with new oil filter 4 quarts

hey thanks for a quick response. Appreciate it.

Wait just a darn miniute. When I do an oil change I go by the dip stick. 5L jug fills it right up to the full line or level with the scratch imbedded on the back of the dipstick. If I go by the book, it does not touch the dipstick.
So is this a fluke or do I have the wrong dipstick? (05’ sunfire)

Is that a 5 liter jug or 5 quart ? Here is what the book says

Engine Oil

Without Filter Change .................... 4.3L (4.5 Qt)
With Filter Change .................... 4.8L (5.0 Qt)

NOTE: All capacity specifications are approximate. When replacing or adding fluids, fill to the recommended level and recheck fluid level.

you don't screw into cap when checking the oil it's 4 quarts not 5
