1996 Pontiac Sunfire vavle cover replacement

i need to know how to get the valve cover off of a 2.4 it is the exhaust cover one, so i can change the gasket i have all the bolts out of it but the side on the passenger dont seem like it wants to come up the other side comes up fine . i was wondering if i had to pull off the plate that is on the passenger side of the motor and there are some other bolts in there to get that valve cover off
