My cooling fan is running almost constantly, even though it's -20 degrees outside. My temperature hand reads normal (though slightly lower now though due to the fan). Now to my understanding there are two relays which activate the fan, one being the coolant temperature sensor, and the other having to do with the A/C. My car did come factory with air conditioning, though it hasn't worked in quite a while, and I have the compressor and the rest of the system removed from the engine compartment. No lights are on in the dash at this time.
Now correct me if I'm wrong, but if either relay is causing the fan to run, then removing or unplugging the culprit should shut it off. I know the location of the coolant sensor (on the left side of the cylinder head) but I'm not sure about the one concerning the A/C. One other thing I have in mind is that I know the radiator has transmission cooler lines, so could it be possible the transmission may be running hot as well?
If you guys could tell me the location of that A/C sensor, or offer any other troubleshooting tips and/or a wiring diagram for the cooling fan, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for the help guys, and Happy New Year!
