Change Oil light....

Recently at 50K miles, my 2002 Pontiac Trans Am, started indicating "Change Oil" on the dashboard.

I change my own every 3000-4000 miles oil so I know it gets done right. I just changed oil for the third time since I bought the car.

How can I turn off this "idiot" light that stays on for about 60 seconds and goes off? I'm 2000 miles past the 50K.....

Turn the key to the on position and pump the accelerator 3 times. If you have a DIC-Digital Instrument Control, it is thru the display.
