My car is a 2006 Pontiac Vibe it has only 42,000 miles on the car. The car has started making a whistling sound for the last couple of weeks. The noise sounds like it is coming from the driver front side. The whistling sound starts when I press the accelrator at about 5-40mph. The immediately begins when I drive the car and the whistling sound stops when i brake. The noise is starting to get louder and it is very annoying. Don't know if I should take the vehicle to a regular mechanic or If I should take it to a Pontiac Car Dealer. I would prefer to take it to a regular mechanic since it is much cheaper than going through a Dealer. Thanks in advance for your help.
