I am trying to replace the existing light switch on my 64 GTO. It is located just left of the steering wheel. I bought the part on ebay and have no idea how to take out the old one.

to remove the llight switch if it has a knob, there is a spring loaded button on the switch itself. You have to get your hand on it and push it down then pull the light knob out of the dash. then you will see a nut to loosen the switch and remove it. It may be a slotted on two sides instead of a hex. then you unplug the harness and reinstall it on the switch and reinstall the switch....
