Van, especially after coming to a complete stop and then going forward, will jerk. Sometimes it will not happen even after driving for about 30 minutes. Next time it may happen right away when vehiclle is still cold. Does not jerk above 80 km/hr or about 50 mph.

First time it happened was several months ago when I was in stop and go traffic. Went to accelerate and vehicle would barely move. Finally moved a few seconds later.

Transmission fluid has been changed as well as filter right after first episode.

Inspect and test all the following listed below:

Oxygen sensor
Catalytic converter
Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)
Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Cap and rotor

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard.

Your quick and expert advice will be put to good use. Time to visit my local GM dealer. I was thinking transmission work for sure.
