Hello, My montana has had a faulty regulator for some time but we would always be able to get the window up with some physical assistance. Guess what? The window is stuck in the down possition and I can't get it up. Is the the most likly problem the window motor or the switch? Is there a test I can do to determine the problem with volt meter? I want to attack the most likly cause. Thank-you so very much. Brian

You can test if its the switch by bypassing it, remove the plate cover that holds the switch by prying up very carefully with a small screwdriver on the plate and look closely under the edge for a tab located on the back of the plate, push in on the tab and lift up on the plate.
Check with a voltmeter or testlight that you have voltage to one side of the switch first, then jump the hot wire over to the other two terminals, if the window works then the switch is bad.
It's best to use a fused testlight to jump switch, you may be able to clean the switch and get it to work for a while although they usually are not worth the trouble for they will only work for a short time. Dont overlook the fuses check them first.
