gearshift locked

I have a 95 Grand Prix SE with 94,000 miles and sometimes the button on my gearshift gets locked and it wont let me out of park. I am pushing the break at the same time, but the button still locked. wat is the deal?

Try posting in the GM section for more answers. The lockout feature on most cars is tied to the brake light switch. It could be sticking of failing.
