i purchased this car less than a year ago. somebody put stop leak in the radiator and it was all over the radiator and in the engine. we had to replace a head and now they say the piston is cracked. can this all stem from teh stop leak? can't really tell you how many miles are on the car because we now have mileage issue when i pulled car fax. (of course bank says its an HONEST MISTAKE!!)

Stop leak and other products are a band aid fix.

It is possible the stop leak caused an overheating or hot spot, but it would be hard to prove.

The fact that the mileage was incorrect would probably give you an edge if you deciede to take the previous owner to court (depending on the number of miles).

it WAS found in the engine as well. I purchased this car at a dealership. According to what I have and what the autoshop put as the mileage of the car i have put less than 9,000 miles on the car.

If you are saying there is a 9,000 mile discrepency between actual mileage and reported mileage, you would have a good case of fraud.

not according to the bank. This car was a repo from the bank i have my loan with on this car. They say (at the bank) it was an honest mistake when they applied for the repo title. An honest mistake that I have to live with on the title of this car as long as i have this car!! Nobody would want to buy this car with that on it...plus having a new engine put it at 51,000 miles. (who knows it THAT is even correct!!) The mileage of the car is wrong, i could have paid an incorrect price for the car. LEMON!!!! It's such a nice car too. I hate that!
