My info screen said charging system failing followed by a little picture of a battery. I do not know much about cars, so if you could tell me what that means I would appreciate it.

It sounds like the alternator has gone out which is common. Here is a guide to help you see the steps it takes to change it with diagrams below to show you on your car:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-replace-an-alternator

2. Install the positive battery lead to the generator.

Note: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the generator output BAT terminal nut.

Tighten the nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

4. Install the protective boot to the generator output BAT terminal.
5. Connect the electrical connector to the generator.
6. Do not tighten the stud.

IMPORTANT: Install the generator stud (2) to the generator bracket.

7. Install the generator bolts (1, 3) to the generator bracket.

IMPORTANT: Do not tighten the bolts.

8. Tighten the generator bolts and stud in the order described. The following is a mandatory torque sequence:
1. Tighten the bolt (1) to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
2. Tighten the stud (2) to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
3. Tighten the rear bracket bolt (3) to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

9. Install the generator rear brace.
10. Install the drive belt.
11. Connect the negative battery negative cable.

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers

And what causes the battery light not to light on the start position? Engine cranks but does not turn on.

Is the security light on solid or flashing while trying to start it?

Either flashing or solid with the security light on that is why its not starting. You need to have the body control module codes read. Which the average diyer scan tool will not read body control module codes. You can try using a basic scan tool to see what codes come up. Have you tried relearning the pass lock sensor just to try to start it?

There is no security light. I am talking about the battery light only.

So the battery light is on solid only while cranking the engine? Also, have you checked for codes yet?
