2004 Pontiac Grand Prix Strong gas odor at startup

I have a strong gas odor at start-up, it continues to smell like gas in the car until I drive for about 5 min.
I have not noticed any leaks. My check engine light came on before the odor started, but has gone off.Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you.

Get the computer scanned for code/s and also inspect fuel pressure regulator ad injector/s if its leaking, to include the charcoal canister if its saturated with fuel.
