some type of electrical surge or break in power causes a loud pop in the speakers when the car/weather is cold. the radio resets the clock, etc. and the xm is gone until the car is restarted. i put a similar radio from a 04 silverado in the car to test it and it did not do it. is this radio bad? it does operate correctly otherwise. the radio i tried from the silverado did go into "lock" mode when the car was started. but there was power to it. ???

Hi there,
Thank you for the donation,

I would be thinking that the original radio has an internal fault, it may be wort while giving it to a radio tech to bench test to prove this one way or the other, start here.
