Brakes problem
2002 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 40th Anniv. Ed.--3800 V-6

My ABS and TRAC OFF warning lights came on about 6 months ago, but there were no driveability or braking problems until yesterday. When I started the engine and stepped on the brake pedal to shift from park, there was full pressure in the pedal. After shifting, the pedal went straight to the floor. I pumped it several times, and the pressure came back and stayed pressurized until I turned the car off after driving and braking for a while. Upon restarting, the same thing happened and continues to happen. HELP

Hi there,

I would have the master cyl checked for fluid by-pass. this is when the internal seal of the master cyl allows fluid to bass the cup seal , there is no external leak, but experience pedal pressure & retention loss.
