3.8 w/o supercharger...Today I pull up to park, and I hear a strange noise, then see smoke (steam) coming from under the hood. I looked down at the temp. gauge, and it was rising fast. So I shut the car down, popped the hood, and noticed water leaking. It looked like it was coming from above the water pump. There appears to be a plastic tube, shaped like an "L", coming out by the idler pully body and going into the...manifold? It looked like it was dripping from there. When I let it cool, I tried to drive it home, and cranked the heater. The engine got hot FAST and the heater blew cold air. This happened to my Grandma's car (3.8 also) and it was a warped intake. Sound right, or could it be the water pump? Thanks.

Could be either, a pressure test will tell you, but first do a compression test to rule out head gasket.

If intake gasket, you should see some coolant around manifold mating surface to head.
