when stepdaughter left last night a noise startred about 50 feet from house.when she came over this morning the noise was there again.after taking a ride we found the noise sterted when the a/c or defrost buttons were pushed.the noise is similar to a grind but not like brakes when they wear down.the tension pulley above the a/c pump, but not on the same belt, was replaced a month ago so i checked the pulleys before going on a ride and none were moveable.the belts are both good/brand new and proper tension.thank you for your help.

Disconnect compressor clutch, if noise goes away, it is most likely the compressor clutch, if not, tensioner or belt.
