My son has a 97 grand prix. He bought the car from an individual for $800. The car ran great for 2 weeks. Then, it started stalling and dying. It has a new battery. I have had 2 mechanics look at it and they say that it's losing spark and thats why it won't always start, and if it does start it won't stay running. The computor module was replaced, that wasn't doing anything, the fuel pump, and the crankshaft sensor was replaced. Still no change, the mechanics have no idea. What do I do with this car? Does any body have any ideas why this car would run fine for 2 weeks then go caput? They also said that they checked the alternator, that was also fine. Help???????????????????????

welcome to the forum. Are you losing anything besides spark, when the problem occurs? If your losing both spark and injector pulse, I might suspect the pcm doesn't see an rpm signal. I saw the parts that were replaced, the problem could be a wiring circuit?

If only a spark issue, possible problems, B+ and ground at the ignition module-- ignition module-- maybe the module doesn't see the signal from crank sensor because of wiring issue? I'd have to do testing when problem occurs.
