I have a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix SE with about 130,000 miles on it. Recently I started noticing a spike in engine temperature while I driving. After awhile I noticed a medium amount of smoke coming out of my hood. I have a mediocre knowledge about the inner workings of my car so when I looked under the hood, I saw that only one of my radiator fans was working, and even then the working fan would only turn on sometimes. I'm gonna try replacing the fan motor but if anyone has any pointers I could use your help.

I'm having this exact same problem, and I really don't think the fault lies with the fans. Does anyone know what would cause this?

You may be haveing the same prob. but if you read the post before you. then you will see this person actually indicated a prob with his fans. i explained how the fans are supposed to work. i never said this is the prob. so please don,t insult me ,before you read the whole post..

didn't mean to insult you. that would be pretty stupid of me since I'm relying on all in this forum. I'm just saying that my car is doing the same thing; what I should have asked is, "is there a chance that this is something else and if so, what could it be?" I'll start a new thread if I have to.

Hi . i am sorry if i sounded rude, but we get follow up post all the time on here, from posters who are not technicians , this effects us very little ,however what it does is give the original poster bad info, [ie] i spend a lot of time trying to help people with very little info. then i come up with a educated opinion that i think will help the person,,and then a poster comes up on a follow up answer and say,s . well my neighbor had that prob and he changed whatever so this tech is wrong. it is very annoying and it keeps people like you who really needs help from getting it.

What happened, was you posted your question in the wrong area, if you post where we have answered then it comes speciffically to whoever posted...

so please go back and repost your question where it say,s ask a question and then your questions will go to the specific tech for the type of vehicle..
