The adjustment of the push rods and timing cycles are questionable. Which of the two methods is correct. 1st- 18 ft pounds torque or
2nd 18 ft pounds torque & then 90 degrees rotating the crankshaft compression cycly.

Bring #1 to firing TDC and line up the marks on the balancer and timing cover.Adjust exhaust valves on 1,2,3 by loosening until pushrod is loose, then tighten until there is no lash (you will feel pushrod drag) Then tighten 1 - 1 1/2 turns (I prefer a little looser -1turn) then adjust intake valves on 1,5,6.
Turn engine 1 turn, realign marks, adjust the remaining valves. I wouldleave all of tehm real loose so you can see what has and hasnt been adjusted so you dont accidentally forget one. Be advised. the pushrods on this engine are 2 different lengths, exhaust are long and intake are short
