Wiring and lights

Tony why do you want to do this type of horn? Have you tested the components yet? You may only need a fuse or relay, or maybe the horn is dead? You really want to know before you go to this length! The cyclops light on the rear deck? Usually comes off with a phillips screw from inside the car. Heres some testing info...

Hi Merlin, thanks for getting to me.

I checked the housing for the cyclops but couldn't find any screws anywhere. It's the top of the window variety. The entire housing tips down when pulled away from the rear window but I can't get it to slide forward, backward or sideways. Any other ideas on how to gain access to that light?

The reason I chose the switch & wire setup for the horn is I'm not that knowledgeable about the electrical system in this car. I've only had it a year. I thought it would be easier & simpler to simply bypass the switch in the column (which was known to be "touchy") and wire the horn directly. With 30' of wire I should be able to do whatever is needed to make it blow for inspection.

Also, I don't have any testing equipment or a repair manual, yet. The horn blew correctly the day before I took it to get inspected but I have failed to make it work in the following 3 days. It was always tricky to get the right spot on the column to make the connection. I suspect a loose wire but since the airbag is there, I'm not inclined to check - that's an expensive and dangerous mistake to make.

So... can you hook an idiot up with wiring instructions to make that puppy toot?

I can't even locate the horn under the hood. How pathetic is that.
