I havce a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am, 3.4 liter with 71000 miles on it. I just replaced the rotors and pads on the front. After completing the repair, I took it for a test drive. I came to a stop and the front brakes are smoking , the rotors are very hot to the touch but not glowing. I did use brake cleaner to remove the film that was on the new rotors. Is the smoking just the residue of the film protectant that was on the new rotors, or do I have a more serious problem? I did ensure I cleaned all surfaces of any grease or any other dirt or fliud....

Could be go on another test drive still there something is wrong. Could be a problem with calpers not retracting or a brake hose acting like a check valve or a problem with M/C.
