2004 Pontiac Grand Am Code P0420

Good Afternoon,

My 2004 Grand Am has a P0420 code. I replaced the O2 Sensor that is in the exhaust manifold. The dealership told me that was Bank 1. This did not fix anything. Do you have any ideas on what the fix would be?

Just an update to let everyone know that I was able to repair my car. I heard all of the horror stories about universal or aftermarket cats, but found an OBD2 Compliant exact fit cat at www.autopartswarehouse.com for half the price of one at the dealer.
I installed it reset the computer and away I went. No more check engine light and the code is gone. I hope that this helps someone
