Electrical problem
2002 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 123K miles
When my car is left for more than about 30 minutes my battery dies. When I leave the battery disconnected the battery keeps the charge. I assume this means I have a short circuit somewhere.
To test for where the circuit is I gather that I have to hook up a multimeter to the car and pull each fuse out one by one to find which circuit the short is on. Is this the best method?
I'm also curios if this multimeter will suit my needs for the job: http://www.amazon.com/Hawk-DIGITAL-MULTIMETER/dp/B0013TRKY6
I heard I only need one that will read to a couple of amps.
Also, do I just unhook the battery and attach the positive of the multimeter to the positive of the battery and the negative to the negative end?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
