Engine Mechanical problem
2000 Pontiac Grand Am 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive 124000 miles

I normally change my oil every 3000 miles, but my change oil light keeps coming on around the 1500 mile mark. I checked the oil. It is at the appropriate level and still looks good. Is there a sensor or something that might need to be changed?
