pontiac 3.4, there is a vacuum line going from the pcv valve to the throttle body and then on to a sensor or something, on the back of the engine, right below the map sensor. I found this vacuum line unplugged from the sensor. When I plug it in, the car dies. What is this sensor and what does it control? It has two vacuum lines going to it and is plugged in to a connector.

Might be EGR valve. See if this sensor connects to exhaust and the to intake, that would be EGR, and if malfunctioning, it will kill engine.
