When I am driving, there is a loud noise coming from the front of the car. When I steer the car slightly to the left, the noise magnifies. When I steer back to the right past center, the noise goes away. The noise can be best described as rubbing, not grinding.

Check fluid level in the PS pump. Check the high and low pressure lines for leaks. Check the rack, make sure the mounting bolts are tight and one has not broken off.

Check the CV axle boots for tears/rips. Check the brake caliper slide pins, make sure they move freely and are not stuck.

Inspect the ball joints, tie rod ends and control arm bushings.
