hello,
my a/c compressor makes a scratchy sound even with the ac turned off. the a/c also dosn't work when turned on either. i am worried that the ac will soon lock up, break the belt, and leave me without a charging battery.
to avoid this i have been spraying the clutch with pb blaster( basically WD40). the noise will go away for a few days and ill have to spray it again. i noticed the whole pulley for the ac spins when it makes the scratchy sound and after i spray it only like half of the compressor pulley spins and the noise goes away(im assuming the clutch).
the ac bypass is a whopping 70$ i am a poor collage student and wont be able to buy a new compressor or ac bypass for a while or find the time to change it with all my studies and work.
my question is if i continue to spray the pb blaster on the clutch of the ac compressor pulley will my pulley soon lock up? or will i be able to get a lot more life out of the pulley?
thanks a lot, nick
