1996 Pontiac Grand Am Coil/s and housing replace question

Diagnosis at repair shop shows cylinders 3 and 4 misfiring. Repair shop saying I need to replace "the coil" and the housing. After some research online, I understand there are 2 coils.

Will replacing only 1 coil (along with the housing)reslove the misfire in cylinders 3 and 4? Or must I replace both coils? Cash is extremely tight right now.

It will cost more labor again if the other coil goes out, knowing that just tell them what you told me. They can replace the one coil, but it is like buying 2 and paying for one as far as installation goes.I totally understand, just tell them to replace only the absolute necessary parts

Thanks for the reply, and sorry for not being clearer in my initial question. So the same coil controls cylinders 3 and 4?

No,I believe 1 and 4 share a coil and 2 and 3 share another. CHeck fror compression in those cylinders, if the head gasket is blown between the cylinders you wil get misfire codes for both of them
