1996 Pontiac Grand Am anti theft

i just replaced the starter and now it wont start it turns over now . which it didnt before i replaced the starter . just 2 weeks before this i took it 2 a shop and they said they had 2 reset the anti theft passcode . but wont tell how they did it . but everthing ive read on it says that it will be blinking and it doesnt it burns steady and done what they ve said but still no luck any suggestions[/quote:796bb487f5]


Is security light on and blinking
you can reprogram the key as follow
place in the ignition and try to start the engine will start then stall
leave key on and watch the security light it take about 10 minutes
for it to stop
turn key off then try to start
in some cases you may have to do it 3 times
total of 30 min
